One morning he raced into the village screaming “Wolf! A wolf is attacking my website sheep!” The scared villagers rushed up the hills to offer assistance but saw nothing threatening.

The boy laughed at the dilemma on their faces. This trick continued for a couple of more days. But, one morning, a real wolf did attack the herd. The shepherd boy raced for aid screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one came.

Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Devastated, he returned to the village only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the consequences of false alarms.

His tale of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of crying wolf. Moreover, it emphasizes how trust once lost, is hard to reclaim. It's a story as pertinent today as it was in the past.
